We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Bure, a category C men's Prison located in Badersfield, Norwich. In this role you'll be working with a multi-disciplinary team that will support you and help you succeed.


Hours

Monday - Friday: 07:30 - 17:30
Saturday - Sunday: 08:30 - 17:30


Salary

This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to £32,346 per annum - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

  • Assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high-quality prison pharmaceutical service.
  • Work within the healthcare department and hold direct patient contact, which will be part of a comprehensive healthcare package, based on the prison services needs.
  • Deliver the highest standard of care to clients in line with National Guidelines.

Requirements
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD)
  • Relevant post-qualification pharmacy experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.

Job Description
Job responsibilities

As a GPHC registered pharmacy technician with Practice Plus Group, you will become an integral member of the pharmacy team, as well as a valued member of the multidisciplinary clinical healthcare team.


You will:

  • Provide outstanding quality based patient centred care to our patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • Deliver non-judgmental care within the scope of professional standards. Involving anything from the timely administration of medicines through to analysing cost effective prescribing as defined through our unique health in justice medicines policy.
  • Inspire excellence by forging strong links within our teams, our partners and stakeholders and providing a service that people can trust, feel safe within and feel proud of.
  • Promote best practice, evidence based care and continuous quality improvement embedding a culture of shared learning.
  • Share information relating to pharmaceutical products, medicines optimisation, drug regimes, medicines legislation and general health education so that the multidisciplinary healthcare team are appropriately informed.
