A leading provider of innovative pharmacy services is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician in Aylesbury for full-time locum work. The role involves supporting clinical pharmacology services, assessing medications, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and effective prescribing practices. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in Pharmacy Services and proficiency in a Primary Care setting.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Pharmacy Technician with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Registered with GPhC.
  • Experience in Primary Care and strong communication.

Responsibilities

  • Review discharge and clinic letters.
  • Support medication safety monitoring for high-risk drugs.
  • Assist with medicines improvement and cost-effective prescribing.
  • Conduct audits and contribute to quality improvements.

Job Type: Full-time | Locum
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Location: Onsite – Aylesbury (HP19)
Pay:Dependent on experience

Duties:
As a Pharmacy Technician, you will work alongside Clinical Pharmacists, GP practices, and Primary Care Networks (PCNs) to support medicines optimisation and clinical pharmacy services. Your role will include:

  • Reviewing discharge and clinic letters

  • Supporting medication safety monitoring (e.g. high-risk drugs)

  • Assisting with medicines improvement and cost-effective prescribing

  • Resolving medicines-related queries with clinicians and admin staff

  • Conducting audits and contributing to quality improvement projects

  • Supporting Structured Medication Reviews


Essential Criteria:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent)

  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)

  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider clinical team
  • Experience working within Primary Care
