Pharmacy Technical Services – Advanced ATO band 4

As part of this team you would be expected to

  • Plan, supervise and prioritise daily workload within technical services
  • Be able to competently prepare aseptic and chemotherapy medicines in line with the terms of the Specials Manufacturing Licence
  • Be able to support the non-sterile and pre-packing teams
  • Be eligible to participate in accreditation/training schemes as per the Technical Services training policy, for example: in house in process and pre-process checking
  • Actively participate and contribute to the training and supervision of the work being carried out by staff working in the cleanroom, ensuring that all staff work to approved processes and procedures and in line with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Trust policies and guidelines.
  • To support the specialist lead pharmacy technicians in providing a safe and efficient service.
  • Participate and contribute to the on-going modernisation of pharmaceutical services
  • Participate in the preparation for any inspections undertaken by the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).
  • Be a role model for others within the manufacturing facility in order to ensure systems and procedures are understood and competency standards achieved by demonstrating the Trust Values and Behaviours.
  • Plan, supervise and prioritise daily workload within technical services discussing any issues regarding capacity and staffing with a member of the senior team.
  • Be able to adapt to unpredictable workload and flow.
  • Be able to work under MHRA licensed conditions following GMP in an aseptic environment
  • Be able to operate isolators within a controlled environment and be physically able to manipulate syringes, needles and infusion bags using aseptic technique.
  • Be able to competently set up and prepare aseptic and chemotherapy products
  • Be able to support the non-sterile and pre-packing teams
  • Be competent to prepare intrathecal medicines in accordance with National guidance and Trust policies.
  • Carry out surface sanitisation of items into the clean rooms as required
  • Be GCP trained and be able to prepare products for clinical trials
