Job summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Pharmacy Support Worker to join the inpatient dispensary at Southampton General Hospital. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to dispense medicines for inpatients and on discharge, and support stock management and reception queries.

A GPhC-approved qualification will be completed as part of the role, with Maths and English GCSEs or equivalent required. This is a permanent, full-time post with rotating between sites.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work accurately under pressure.
• GCSE Maths and English Language (or equivalent) required.

Responsibilities

• Produce labels and dispense medicines for inpatients and on discharge.
• Assist at the pharmacy reception with queries and information sharing with the team.
• Contribute to stock management, including ordering, receiving and maintaining medicines.
• Use the dispensing robot to retrieve medicines.
• Rotate into the Clinical Trials dispensary when required.
