We have a fantastic opportunity for a Pharmacy Support Worker to join the team at HMP YOI Doncaster, a Category B male prison, with operational capacity of around 1145, 200 of which are males aged between 18 - 20 years old. HMP YOI Doncaster is a local resettlement prison in South Yorkshire.
This is a fantastic opportunity start or continue your career in Pharmacy and Healthcare - no previous experience is necessary, and we will support you with lots of training and development opportunities.

No two days are the same in this challenging, yet rewarding environment!

Hours

This is a full-time role, working an average of 37.5 hours per week. The Pharmacy team work a rolling rota over 4 weeks, 15 shifts per 4 weeks. The shifts vary weekly, and you will work alternate weekends.

Salary

This is a full-time role, and the salary is £23,809.50 per annum.

What you'll be doing

As our new Pharmacy Support Worker, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
  • Support the onsite Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Manager, as well as the wider healthcare team
  • Work from the medication rooms on the wings
  • Second check medication before dispensing to patients on medication rounds
  • Contribute to services such as medicine reconciliation, managing stock medicines and transportation of medicines
  • Provide support to ensure a safe and secure medicines management service, following policies, procedures and standard operating procedures
  • Be a key member of a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals - primary care, substance misuse and mental health

Our new Pharmacy Support Worker will have:
  • No experience is necessary - we are looking for someone with a keen interest in Pharmacy, and keen to pursue a career in Pharmacy and Healthcare
  • An NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Dispensing would be a bonus, but isn't essential
  • Ideally have medicines handling experience, although this isn't essential
  • Be a hard worker, diligent, with a high attention to detail
