A leading healthcare organization is seeking a skilled professional to supervise and train pharmacy staff, manage pharmacy systems, and ensure accurate reporting of Tariff Excluded Drugs. This role involves collaboration with clinical teams and commissioners to improve service delivery and funding management. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and experience in pharmacy operations, with a focus on continuous improvement and effective communication.
Supervise staff in training (Pre-Registration Pharmacists and Pre-Registration Pharmacy Technicians) during rotations within the Business Team. Responsibilities include providing training plans and conducting rotational review meetings.
Responsible for accurate in-system flagging of Tariff Excluded Drugs and generating month-end reports in the format required for trust finance to produce the Minimum Data-Set (mds) for commissioners. Ensure the pharmacy stock system reflects annual and mid-year commissioning changes to enable accurate reporting for invoice preparation.
Attend and document problem-solving and horizon scanning meetings with trust representatives, commissioners, and clinical teams to review spending on Tariff Excluded Drugs. Contribute to solutions for managing funding requests.
Coordinate with Specialist Nurses to respond to Tariff Excluded Drug funding queries and address commissioner funding challenges.
Review and update existing Business Team SOPs for the Stock Control System, Prescription Tracker, Robot, High Cost Drugs, and month-end Sales and Divisional Spend Reports.
Manage the Ascribe Pharmacy system provided by EMIS. Regularly check and troubleshoot issues, and liaise with EMIS software specialists if necessary. Assist in setting up new product lines and ensure the system and backup are in proper working order, including quarterly tests. Add new consultants and cost centres as specified by the PAS team.
