Working within our Aseptic Unit providing safe, timely, appropriate high quality pharmaceutical services.
Main Duties
As part of a small team, you will be making a range of aseptically prepared products using needles and syringes within a clean room environment and making sure they are sent to the right ward. You will need to wear clean room clothing and make-up is not allowed.
Working with the team, you will assist in the preparation of products for patient administration.
You need to be methodical, accurate, able to strictly follow procedures and have an eye for detail.
To maintain stock and consumable levels ensuring stock rotation within designated areas in accordance with procedures
To perform general tidying and non-domestic cleaning duties in the department as needed, ensuring the safe disposal of waste.
Awareness of COSHH (Control of substances hazardous to health) regulations for the storage handling and disposal of pharmaceutical products
Previous Aseptic experience is desirable although there is a full training package provided that you will be supported to complete
NVQ2 in Pharmacy Services is also a requirement of the role
Training role including completion of NVQ2 Pharmacy Services will be considered for applicants without this essential qualification.

We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
