Job summary

United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Pharmacy Purchasing Officer (Band 3) in Lincoln for 37.5 hours per week on a permanent basis. You will manage procurement of medicines, gases and sundries, processing orders and maintaining stock levels.

The role requires processing orders, prioritising workloads, and ensuring contract pricing is adhered to. NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or willingness to undertake training is required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services required or willing to undertake training.
• Experience with processing orders for pharmaceuticals and sundries.

Responsibilities

• Process orders for all pharmaceuticals, medical gases and sundries for ULHT sites using Emis (Ascribe) computer system and associated manual systems.
• Follow up outstanding orders, order alternative generic products and communicate supply problems to Pharmacy staff.
• Make day to day decisions on drug purchasing issues taking into account contract pricing, supplier lead times, out of stock situations and degree of urgency required.
• Prioritise own workload and assist with the day to day work of Procurement support clerks.
