Pharmacy Manager
Competitive salary
Plymouth

About the role

At Tesco, people are at the heart of everything we do, and this couldn’t be truer for our pharmacy team.

As a Pharmacy Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact on others’ lives. Whether you’re supporting pharmacists, providing top-notch services to customers, or fostering community spirit, your work will touch the lives of hundreds of people every day.

We want to help you be at your best, whatever life brings. That's why we’ll offer you uninterrupted "me time" away from the pharmacy to relax, refuel, and recharge. Aside from these healthy breaks, you’ll also have plenty of career development opportunities with leadership training plans from industry experts, so there’s every chance to progress. And if you have ideas for improvement, we’ll ensure you’re given the chance to be heard.

It all adds up to a role where you can do good, and feel good, while developing your career. Let’s make every day a little better.

What is in it for you

Our pharmacies are led and supported exclusively by Pharmacists; we are always looking to develop new ways to deliver the best service possible for our communities.

Along with providing a secure and flexible work environment, we offer excellent benefits that make Tesco a great place to work! These include but are not limited to:

  • Your GPhC fee covered by us, every year.
  • Holiday starting at 25 days plus a personal day (plus Bank holidays)
  • Buy holiday salary sacrifice scheme
  • Savings of up to £2000 a year on most Tesco purchases.
  • Annual bonus - up to 20% of annual salary
  • Contributory pension scheme.
  • 26 weeks maternity and adoption leave (after 1 year’s service) at full pay, followed by 13 weeks of Statutory Maternity Pay or Statutory Adoption Pay, and 4 weeks fully paid paternity leave.
  • The right to request flexible working from your first day with us.
  • A pharmacy training programme exclusive to Tesco, in partnership with Diabetes UK, Cancer Research UK, and the British Heart Foundation.
  • A structured training plan for Pharmacy Leadership, crafted by industry specialists.
  • Great colleague discounts that save you money on everyday purchases.
  • Support through the application process for the UK health and social care visa.
  • Access to colleague networks for support and community. For more information, please click here.

You will be responsible for

  • Supplying prescriptions, delivering NHS and private services, and providing healthcare advice to customers.
  • Playing an active role in our charity support programs, advising those at risk of or living with cancer, heart disease, and diabetes.
  • Leading, training, and developing colleagues.
  • Using planning systems to ensure pharmacy staffing levels meet customer needs.

You will need

  • A Pharmacy Degree.
  • A passion for leading and empowering a team.
  • Membership of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and willingness to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme — we will assist with this when you are offered the role.
  • Completion of a DBS check (organized by us) prior to employment.

** Pharmacists working for Tesco will need to complete a DBS check (organized by Tesco) before starting employment.

We understand that life looks different for everyone. That’s why at Tesco, we welcome discussions about flexible working arrangements. Whether you’re starting your career, caring for loved ones, nearing retirement, or adapting to parenthood, talk to us about how we can support you.

Everyone’s welcome

Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) at Tesco mean that whoever you are and whatever your background, you should feel represented and able to be yourself at work. In short, we’re a place where Everyone’s Welcome.
