Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Degree in Pharmacy (M Pharm, B Pharm, or BSc. Pharmacy) registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician.
- At least 2 years of UK hospital experience within a hospital pharmacy department, including team management and mentoring, and budget management experience.
- Strong organisational and planning skills, including risk management, with a proven track record of achieving targets.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with diverse hospital staff.
- Knowledge of the General Pharmaceutical Council Codes of Conduct, Ethics, and Performance.
- Understanding of the Care Standards Act and Care Quality Commission requirements.
Duties of this role include:
- Ensuring the safe and optimal use of medicines for patients receiving SACT medication.
- Managing prescribing through the CHG electronic software system.
- Requesting new protocols promptly.
- Promoting evidence-based medicine and best practices for oncology patients.
- Providing expert advice on medication management within the oncology department.
- Motivating and inspiring pharmacy staff and healthcare professionals in medicine management.
- Participating as a member of the hospital's multidisciplinary oncology team.
- Supporting the development and implementation of prescribing guidelines and oncology policies.
- Serving as an educational resource for staff and patients regarding oncology medicines.
