Qualifications

  • 2+ years of UK hospital experience in pharmacy.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  1. Degree in Pharmacy (M Pharm, B Pharm, or BSc. Pharmacy) registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician.
  2. At least 2 years of UK hospital experience within a hospital pharmacy department, including team management and mentoring, and budget management experience.
  3. Strong organisational and planning skills, including risk management, with a proven track record of achieving targets.
  4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with diverse hospital staff.
  5. Knowledge of the General Pharmaceutical Council Codes of Conduct, Ethics, and Performance.
  6. Understanding of the Care Standards Act and Care Quality Commission requirements.

Duties of this role include:

  1. Ensuring the safe and optimal use of medicines for patients receiving SACT medication.
  2. Managing prescribing through the CHG electronic software system.
  3. Requesting new protocols promptly.
  4. Promoting evidence-based medicine and best practices for oncology patients.
  5. Providing expert advice on medication management within the oncology department.
  6. Motivating and inspiring pharmacy staff and healthcare professionals in medicine management.
  7. Participating as a member of the hospital's multidisciplinary oncology team.
  8. Supporting the development and implementation of prescribing guidelines and oncology policies.
  9. Serving as an educational resource for staff and patients regarding oncology medicines.
