Job summary

Bolt Pharmacy in Blackburn is hiring a dispenser to turn prescriptions into safe, effective treatments. You will work on-site, handling high-volume dispensing with accuracy and regulatory compliance, under pharmacist supervision.

You will join a supportive team, mentor trainees, and help maintain stock and quality across the dispensing process while upholding patient safety as a top priority.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid Buttercups dispensing qualification or equivalent.
• Experience in high-volume dispensing and meeting a 30+ orders per hour target.
• Demonstrate exceptional accuracy in medicine selection, labelling and prescription preparation.

Responsibilities

• Get every prescription right by selecting, labelling and preparing medicines within your scope and escalating queries to pharmacists.
• Process and securely pack 30+ orders per hour while maintaining accuracy and safety.
• Maintain cold-chain controls and monitor temperatures; report deviations promptly.
• Check incoming deliveries, store medicines correctly and support stock takes.
• Record errors and near misses; keep workstations clean and compliant; follow PPE and hygiene procedures.
