Job summary

The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant/Pharmacy Assistant Technical Officer to join the busy pharmacy team. The role starts at Band 2 with progression to Band 3 after training, working full-time (37.5 hours) with occasional weekend work on a 5-week rota and holiday coverage as required.

You will support the dispensary operations, assist with stock management and prescription dispensing as you gain competency, under the supervision of the Senior

Qualifications

• Essential English and Maths Level 2 or GCSE A-C.
• DBS clearance required and funded via salary deduction.
• Probation period of 6 months for new starters.

Responsibilities

• Support running of the pharmacy dispensary and cover reception.
• Use the pharmacy tracking system and prepare medication for deliveries.
• Assist with stock put-away, filing, and expiry date checks.
• Dispense a wide variety of prescriptions on completion of training.
