Job description

To undertake all mandatory training as requested by the Trust.

The general pharmacy department is looking to recruit a pharmacy assistant to perform general duties which will support the efficient running of the department. We are looking for an enthusiastic pharmacy assistant to join our highly motivated and focused teams. The successful candidate will receive the required training for the post. This will be a split role between RCHT and SMH (Hayle). The post holder will work from 8:30 AM to 5 PM four days of the week and 10:30 AM to 7 PM one day of the week.

The post holder would be expected to work towards a BTEC level 2 certificate in Principles and Practice for pharmacy support staff. Responsibilities include:

  1. Experience in dealing with the public.
  2. Good organisational skills.
  3. Demonstrate high levels of accuracy in all areas of work.
  4. Able to work with PCs, input data and other information.
  5. Undertake further education, training, and validation before being allowed to undertake the duties required of this post.
  6. Deal with telephone enquiries into the department and use knowledge and experience to answer queries or pass them on to a relevant member of the pharmacy department.
  7. Work in a team or autonomously when working on the wards during top-up duties.
