Location: Base site Pharmacy - Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester. With possible work at other HHFT sites depending on requirements.

Role Description:

We are seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to join our busy yet friendly team based in the pharmacy. Responsibilities include ward top-ups, goods in, order picking, and receiving medical gases. This role is crucial for patient care and involves close collaboration with ward staff and pharmacy colleagues across various sites.

You should be willing to work hard, capable of managing your workload, and committed to meeting the needs of our service users.

We are open to considering candidates for a progression from band 2 to band 3 if you do not meet all the essential criteria listed.

Working patterns:

Full-time with flexible hours depending on minimum weekly hours.

Main duties of the job:

Performing ward top-ups, goods in, order picking, and receiving medical gases. Maintaining patient care and fostering close working relationships with ward staff and pharmacy colleagues at various sites.

Person specification:
Training & Qualification
  • GCSE in Maths and English at grade C or above (or equivalent)
  • Willingness to work towards NVQ 2 or equivalent within 1 year of starting
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Pharmacy Service Skills
Experience and Knowledge
  • Customer service experience, including face-to-face and phone interactions
  • Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office, and web-based learning
  • Experience with general office duties
  • Previous pharmacy experience
  • Experience with WellSky or similar systems
  • Knowledge of stock control
