Job summary

A leading healthcare provider in Liverpool is seeking a Senior Pharmacy Assistant for a part-time position in the homecare team. The successful candidate will manage prescriptions for specialist medicines, process invoices, and address queries from patients. Ideal candidates will have relevant pharmacy qualifications and experience, along with excellent communication and IT skills. This role promises a dynamic working environment at Aintree Hospital.

Qualifications

  • Essential to have GCSEs with grade C or above including Maths and English.
  • Must possess NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or 2 A levels with relevant experience.
  • Demonstrable experience working in a pharmacy environment is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Manage prescriptions for specialist medicines from clinical teams.
  • Process invoices and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Answer queries from patients and ensure safe supply of medicines.

Senior Pharmacy Assistant - Homecare

Band 3, Pharmacy, 9 months (Fixed term), Part time - 22.5 hours per week (Wednesday-Friday 08:45-17:00)

Job Overview: We are looking for an enthusiastic, capable person to join the pharmacy homecare team based at Aintree Hospital. The homecare team manages prescriptions for specialist medicines from 25 different teams in Liverpool University Hospitals.

Main Duties
  • Manage prescriptions for specialist medicines from clinical teams based at all sites at LUHFT and the Walton Centre.
  • Process invoices received from homecare providers ensuring that accurate records are kept and payments are made through the hospital finance team to the homecare providers.
  • Answer queries received from patients, clinical teams and homecare providers helping to ensure that medicines supplied by homecare delivery are safe, effective and that the patient is supplied with them as requested by their specialist.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • GCSE or equivalent (such as functional skills) grade C or above (must include Maths and English)
  • NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Services or Pharmacy equivalent with 2 years' experience working in pharmacy. OR 2 A levels (pass) + demonstrable relevant experience.
Experience
