Job summary

Skills4Group is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice to join a busy community pharmacy team in Devon. You will earn while you learn, gaining hands-on experience as you work toward a recognised apprenticeship qualification.

You will complete a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship with full training and support, while assisting with day-to-day pharmacy tasks and customer service.

Qualifications

• GCSEs at A-C (or 4-9) in Maths and English preferred; course support available.
• Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship training provided.
• Commitment to completing the apprenticeship while working in the pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers at the medicines counter and answer queries.
• Help with preparation and supply of prescriptions under supervision.
• Handle stock, deliveries and keep accurate records.
• Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and sales.

• Working Week: 42.5hours per week (Monday-Friday 0830-1800 60 mins unpaid lunchbreak) plus every other Saturday morning 0900-1200 (these 3 hours would be given back in the week). 15-month fixed term contract

Brief Description

PL1 3BW We are looking for a friendly, reliable and motivated Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice to join a busy community pharmacy team. This is a great opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining hands‑on experience in a healthcare environment while working towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification.

Qualifications Required

GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent, in Maths and English desired but not essential as can be provided as part of the course. For applicants without Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent qualifications, employment will be offered on condition of completing initial Maths and English tests to determine suitability for the course.

Training to be Provided

Pharmacy Services Assistant Level 2 (GCSE) and Functional Skills if required.

Future Prospects

This is an exciting role that will include engaging with customers and clients to provide prescription counter services, advice, housekeeping duties such as stock rotation and stock replenishment, helping to deliver a variety of public health services whilst gaining a pharmacy qualification.

About the role

As a Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice, you will support the day‑to‑day running of the pharmacy, helping customers and working closely with the pharmacy team to ensure safe and efficient service.

You will complete a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship alongside your role, with full training and support provided.

Key duties include:
