Job summary

Skills4Pharmacy is recruiting a friendly Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice to join a busy community pharmacy team. You will gain hands-on experience while working toward a recognised apprenticeship qualification, with full training and support provided.

The role involves customer service at the counter, assisting with prescriptions, stock management, and contributing to public health services. GCSEs ( Maths & English ) are desirable, and the program runs for about 15 months.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in Maths and English at A-C or 4-9 preferred, as part of the course.
• No previous pharmacy experience required; full training provided.
• Pharmacy Services Assistant Level 2 apprenticeship offered with Functional Skills if needed.

We are looking for a friendly, reliable and motivated Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice to join a busy community pharmacy team. This is a great opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining hands‑on experience in a healthcare environment while working towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification.

Qualifications Required

GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent, in Maths and English desired but not essential as can be provided as part of the course.
For applicants without Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent qualifications, employment will be offered on condition of completing initial Maths and English tests to determine suitability for the course.

About the role
As a Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice, you will support the day‑to‑day running of the pharmacy, helping customers and working closely with the pharmacy team to ensure safe and efficient service.
You will complete a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship alongside your role, with full training and support provided.
Key duties include:
Supporting customers at the medicines counter and responding to queries
Assisting with the preparation and supply of prescriptions (under supervision)
Handling stock, deliveries and maintaining accurate records
Using pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and sales
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, health & safety and confidentiality
Working as part of a team to ensure excellent customer service
