Job summary

We are seeking a friendly Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice to join a busy community pharmacy team in Nelson. You will support daily operations while working towards a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship, with full training and support provided.

Key duties include assisting customers, preparing prescriptions under supervision, managing stock and records, and using pharmacy systems to process sales while maintaining safety and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 in Maths and English desired but not essential.
• If Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent qualifications are not met, initial tests will determine suitability for the course.
• Pharmacy Services Assistant Level 2 training will be provided along with the apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Support customers at the medicines counter and respond to queries.
• Assist with the preparation and supply of prescriptions under supervision.
• Handle stock, deliveries and maintain accurate records.

Job description

BB9 5PH We are looking for a friendly, reliable and motivated Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice to join a busy community pharmacy team. This is a great opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining hands‑on experience in a healthcare environment while working towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification.

Qualifications Required

GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent, in Maths and English desired but not essential as can be provided as part of the course.

For applicants without Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent qualifications, employment will be offered on condition of completing initial Maths and English tests to determine suitability for the course.

Training to be Provided

Pharmacy Services Assistant Level 2 (GCSE) and Functional Skills if required.

Future Prospects

This is an exciting role that will include engaging with customers and clients to provide prescription counter services, advice, housekeeping duties such as stock rotation and stock replenishment, helping to deliver a variety of public health services whilst gaining a pharmacy qualification.
