Nuffield Health Bristol Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to join our hospital Pharmacy team on a permanent, full-time basis. You will monitor stock, assist in procurement, and support the pharmacist with dispensing and admin tasks, helping deliver safe, patient-centered care.

The ideal candidate will hold an NVQ2 in Pharmacy Services (Buttercups preferred), have hospital experience, excellent communication and IT skills, and be capable of working well in a team and independently when

Qualifications

• Previous pharmacy experience required.
• Buttercups qualification (Pharmacy Services) preferred.
• Excellent people skills and ability to work with patients and clinical staff.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency with pharmacy systems.
• Able to work as part of a team and independently as needed.
• Demonstrate initiative and a proactive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain stock levels in the Pharmacy department.
• Assist in procurement of pharmaceutical stock using electronic systems.
• Support pharmacist in dispensing controlled drugs.
• Participate in quarterly stock takes.
• Date check as required.
• Provide general administrative support to the department.
• Assist with general dispensing as required.

Pharmacy Assistant Bristol Hospital | Pharmacy | Permanent | Full Time Up to £26,250 per annum, depending on skills and experience. 37.5 hours per week

As a Pharmacy Assistant at our Wessex Hospital, you with have NVQ2 or equivalent in pharmacy services and ideally have previous hospital experience. It’s also important that you have excellent communication and people skills, as you’ll be working closely with our patients and a variety of clinical staff.

As our Pharmacy Assistant, you will:

• Help monitor and maintain stock levels within the Pharmacy department
• Assist in the procurement of pharmaceutical stock for pharmacy and other departments using appropriate electronic systems
• Support the pharmacist in dispensing controlled drugs
• To participate in stock takes within the pharmacy department quarterly
• To date check as required
• To provide general administrative support to the department
• To help with general dispensing as required

To succeed as a Pharmacy Assistant, you will:

• Have previous pharmacy experience
• Hold a Buttercups (or equivalent) qualification in Pharmacy Services
• Have excellent people skills, as you will be working closely both with patients and the wider hospital team
• Have excellent computer skills
• To be able to work as part of a team, and equally as confident lone working
• Be motivated to provide a high quality service
• To be passionate and enthusiastic in their role
• To show initiative
