Job description

We are looking to recruit a full time Pharmacy Assistant within our veterinary practice in Kidderminster. This position is a very responsible role within a busy environment. The successful candidate will be working alongside trained clinical team members.

Your focus is to provide an exceptional service to our clients and the best care possible to their pets - providing a link between clients and the clinical team. Your ability to build strong relationships with our clients, their pets and the practice team will be critical to your success.

What your typical day will look like:

  • Stock control including stock ordering, arriving stock, stock rotation, managing stock levels, managing expired drugs, stock takes etc.
  • Manage stock related records.
  • Dispensing repeat prescriptions including processing written prescriptions.
  • Management of all consumables.
  • Laboratory supply control including ordering and monitoring levels.
  • Clinical waste management.
  • Dispensing medications for pets during consults and for in-patients.
  • Help with end of day procedures to include cleaning and restocking of the practice.
  • Assisting the client care team by answering incoming calls and helping with medication related queries

This is a Part Time role working up to 30 hours per week (Details of shifts to be discussed at interview)

The attributes required:
  • You are the friendly and welcoming face for the client and their pets when they arrive at the practice.
  • You can provide guidance by keeping yourself fully up-to-speed with the practice services and any additional services available.
  • You are calm, attentive, and always focus on the clients' needs.
  • The ideal candidate will have some previous experience in stock management (pharmacy preferred), be IT literate, have strong communication & numeracy skills combined with great attention to detail.
