Salary

The hourly rate for this role is £12.69 and up to £14.05 across selected locations within London.

The importance of your role

Exceptional patient-centred care is at the heart of everything we do. As a Pharmacy Dispenser, you’ll help patients feel good by providing clear advice and a wide range of dispensing services. You will work across the healthcare counter and dispensary to meet patients' needs, offering an excellent opportunity to develop your pharmacy career and make a difference.

What you’ll be doing day to day

Providing health advice through focused conversations, ensuring clear and accurate answers. Your duties include:

  • Tailoring conversations to ensure customers leave informed and confident about their healthcare needs.
  • Delivering technical dispensary tasks such as ordering medicines, labelling, dispensing, endorsing, and collecting prescriptions.
  • Ensuring compliance with legal and professional standards in Boots.
  • Engaging with GPs and practice teams to promote services and products.
  • Maintaining efficient dispensary operations and minimizing dispensing losses.

What you’ll need to have

We offer an exciting career opportunity. You should have an NVQ Level 2 equivalent in Pharmacy Services and previous experience as a Pharmacy Dispenser. Completion of a Medicines Counter Assistant (NVQ2) qualification or equivalent is required; if not completed, we will support your training within 6 months.

We also support your professional development towards NVQ Level 3 (QCF) in Pharmacy Services, enabling registration with the GPHC as a Pharmacy Technician, which could lead to an Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician role. Your pay and benefits will reflect your ongoing development.
