Job description

Job Description: Pharmacy Dispenser

Hourly Rate: £12.69 and up to £14.05 across selected locations within London.

Exceptional patient-centred care is at the heart of everything we do. As a Pharmacy Dispenser, you'll help patients feel good by providing clear advice and a wide range of dispensing services. You will work across the healthcare counter and dispensary to meet patients' needs, offering an excellent opportunity to develop your pharmacy career and make a difference in patients' lives.

Daily responsibilities include:

  1. Providing health advice through focused conversations, ensuring patients leave informed and confident about their healthcare needs.
  2. Handling technical dispensary tasks such as ordering medicines, labelling, dispensing, endorsing, and collecting prescriptions, while ensuring the safe supply of medicines.
  3. Complying with legal and professional standards and guidance in Boots.
  4. Engaging with GPs and practice teams to promote services and products.
  5. Ensuring efficient dispensary operations and minimising dispensing losses.

Qualifications and experience:

Applicants should have an NVQ Level 2 equivalent in Pharmacy Services and previous experience as a Pharmacy Dispenser. Completion of a Medicines Counter Assistant (NVQ2) qualification or equivalent is required; we will support your development to complete training within 6 months if needed. Opportunities for further professional development include achieving NVQ Level 3 (QCF) in Pharmacy Services and progressing towards roles like Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT). Your pay and benefits will reflect your qualifications and roles as you develop.
