As we continue to expand, we are seeking a qualified Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT) to join our pharmacy team and ensure the highest standards of accuracy and patient safety in our medication dispensing processes.

Role Overview

As an Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT), you will play a crucial role in the pharmacy team, responsible for verifying the accuracy of dispensed medications and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and best practices. Your attention to detail and commitment to patient safety will help maintain the quality of our pharmacy services and enhance patient trust in our care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accuracy Checking: Review and verify dispensed medications against prescriptions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with pharmacy protocols and regulatory standards.
  • Medication Management: Assist in the preparation and dispensing of medications, including prescription and over-the-counter products, while adhering to established procedures and protocols.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance initiatives, conducting checks and audits to identify areas for improvement and ensuring adherence to best practices in medication management.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of medication dispensed, including patient information, prescription details, and accuracy checks performed, in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with pharmacists and other pharmacy team members to support efficient workflows and address any discrepancies or issues related to medication dispensing.
  • Patient Interaction: Assist in providing online medication counselling to patients, addressing any questions or concerns regarding their medications and ensuring they have the necessary information for safe use.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on current pharmacy regulations and guidelines, ensuring all activities comply with GPhC standards and best practices.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and dedicated Accuracy Checking Technician with the following qualifications:

  • Qualifications: Completion of an accredited Accuracy Checking Technician course.
  • Registration: Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a pharmacy technician.
  • Experience: Previous experience working in a pharmacy setting is preferred, with a solid understanding of pharmacy operations and medication dispensing procedures.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and patient safety.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with patients and team members.
  • Team Player: A collaborative approach to work, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • IT Proficiency: Proficiency in Google Drive and/or Office applications
