Job Description: Pharmacist Manager at Medicap Pharmacy in Carlisle, IA
GRX Holdings, LLC, a privately held company based in West Des Moines, owns 22 Medicap Pharmacy retail locations. Our mission is to provide consistent, quality personal service, genuinely care for our patients' health, offer necessary health information, and be readily available to our patients.
We are seeking an efficient, flexible, and highly motivated Pharmacist to join our pharmacy team as a full-time Manager at our Medicap Pharmacy in Carlisle, IA.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of pharmacy operations, including patient services, administration, and personnel supervision, under indirect supervision.
- Provide a full range of patient services, including filling prescriptions, counseling patients, and supervising Pharmacy Technicians.
- Ensure all services comply with professional standards and applicable laws.
- Exercise broad judgment in professional matters, keeping senior management informed of issues and results.
Essential Duties
The following duties are typical for this role. Other duties may be assigned as needed:
- Attend on-site regularly.
- Interpret prescriptions, check for drug interactions and allergies, enter data, and coordinate prescription filling.
- Supervise Technicians and review their work for accuracy.
- Ensure accurate billing in compliance with insurance, CMS, and pharmacy board regulations.
- Counsel patients over the phone and in person, providing medication instructions and answering questions.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and conduct research to ensure optimal patient care.
- Perform duties of Staff Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technicians as needed.
- Communicate regularly with the Regional Director of Operations.
- Manage daily pharmacy operations and patient care delivery.
- Train staff and support company initiatives in marketing, clinical programs, and operations.
- Participate in community outreach, including immunizations and health talks.
- Maintain Immunization Certification and pharmacy licenses.
- Ensure security procedures are followed and maintain inventory.
- Provide performance feedback and conduct staff evaluations.
- Develop staffing schedules and resolve billing issues.
- Follow incident reporting procedures and ensure legal compliance.
- Mentor pharmacy students and foster a professional environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manage all pharmacy employees, including hiring, training, evaluating, and addressing personnel issues, in accordance with organizational policies and laws.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should meet the following:
- Bachelor's degree (BA) or Pharm.D from an accredited pharmacy college.
- Four to ten years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
