Job description

Permanent full time (80 hours per fortnight with ADO) or permanent part time positions available

33.86-$54.53 Per hour + Salary packaging

Relocate to Ballarat

About this role

This role involves immersion in all aspects of clinical pharmacy delivery of care within our unit based clinical pharmacy team, on a rotational basis. Opportunities to undertake credentialing for advanced scope of practice roles are available. Possible rotations to operational services including dispensing and compounding or the Ballarat Regional Integrated Cancer Centre (BRICC) may occur. Professional development is supported through regular in-service education including journal club meetings and support for seminar / conference attendance is available. In addition, professional support is provided through team-based clinical pharmacy structures as well as formal education opportunities including SHPA residency programs.

Key responsibilities

• Provision of clinical pharmacy services (assessment, intervention, advocacy and consultation) on a rotational basis
• Effective patient flow principles
• Mentoring and clinical supervision of pharmacy students, interns and other GH staff and learners
• Attendance and active contribution to Pharmacy Services and multidisciplinary team education programs and meetings

Skills and experience

• Currently hold or be eligible for general registration as a pharmacist with AHPRA
• Experience in the provision of hospital pharmacy services preferred
• Sound knowledge of pharmacotherapy and a demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge and promote quality use of medicines
• Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise own workload in accordance with challenging and dynamic deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to utilise a range of computer skills including use of iPharmacy and Windows based applications
• Ability to identify, and participate in, quality improvement activities and positively influence change as required
