Job Title: Pharmacist

Location: George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust

Pay Range: £19.10 – £23.52 per hour

NHS Professionals Limited invites applications for the position of Pharmacist at George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust. This role is open for long-term placement opportunities and offers a chance to be part of a dedicated team providing crucial support to patients within an integrated hospital and community service.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Pharmacist in this role, you will:

  • Provide ward-based prescription monitoring, medicines reconciliation, and patient counseling services to assigned wards.
  • Deliver pharmacy services to allocated wards in accordance with professional, departmental, and Trust policies.
  • Offer professional and legal clinical supervision in the dispensary to ensure compliance with statutory and ethical standards.
  • Provide Medicines Information to medical and nursing staff and patients, facilitating the appropriate use of drugs.
  • Assist in the distribution of medicines to patients, wards, and departments, ensuring compliance with current legislation.
  • Maintain records of clinical interventions and activities in line with departmental policy to identify and address areas of improvement.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

To apply for this position, you should possess:

  • Registration as a Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • An MPharm degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in NHS pharmacy practice, particularly in a hospital pharmacy setting.
  • Strong communication and telephone skills.
  • Methodical and accurate working.
  • Effective time management skills.

In addition to the above qualifications and experience, all qualified candidates will need to provide evidence of relevant qualifications and registration with the appropriate registration body if applicable.
