Job summary

Spire Norwich Hospital is looking for a Clinical Pharmacist to join their established team on a permanent part-time basis (22.5 hours per week).

As a Clinical Pharmacist you will provide expert medicines advice to consultants, patients and clinicians, ensuring safe, cost-effective use of medicines and compliance with current legislation. You will contribute to multidisciplinary care and quality improvement within the hospital.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in pharmacy or equivalent at time of qualification.
  • Current member of the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Experience as a pharmacist within a hospital setting or community.
  • Experience of working in partnership with consultants and across clinical teams.
  • Effective stock and budgetary control.
  • Continuing professional development in pharmaceutical activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide an exemplary pharmacy service in accordance with current legislation, professional standards and clinical requirements.
  • Advise and support consultants, clinicians and patients ensuring safe, appropriate and cost effective use of medicines.
  • Advise the hospital on safe management of medicines and compliance with legislation and standards.
  • Promote a multidisciplinary, patient-focused approach to care delivery.
  • Assess the health and well-being of patients with complex and changing medicine needs.
  • Plan, monitor and evaluate the movement of medicines.
  • Maintain effective communication with individuals and groups on complex issues.
  • Contribute to quality improvement.

Spire Norwich Hospital has an exciting opportunity for Clinical Pharmacist to join their established team on a permanent part time basis.

Duties and responsibilities
  • To provide an exemplary pharmacy service in accordance with current legislation, accepted professional and ethical standards and clinical requirements.
  • To provide advice and support to consultants, other clinicians and patients ensuring the safe, appropriate and cost effective use of medicines.
  • To advise the hospital and its departments on the safe management of medicines, ensuring compliance with current legislation and professional standards.
  • To promote a multidisciplinary, patient focused approach to the delivery of an efficient, high quality healthcare service.
  • Assess the health and well-being of patients whose needs may be complex and changing within the context of their medicines.
  • Plan, monitor and evaluate the movement of medicines.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with various individuals and groups on complex, sensitive and occasionally contentious issues in a range of situations.
  • Contribute to quality improvement.
Who we're looking for
  • Master’s degree in pharmacy, or equivalent at time of qualification.
  • Experience of applying clinical reasoning skills to a range of complex and varied patient requirements.
  • Current member of the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Previous experience as a pharmacist within a hospital setting or community.
  • Experience of working in partnership with consultants and across clinical teams.
  • Effective stock and budgetary control.
  • Possess Equipment and Medical Devices Competences.
  • Continuing professional development in pharmaceutical activities.
