Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Prescribing Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Fosse Way.

Practice Plus Group is delighted to have been awarded the healthcare contract for HMP Fosse Way, a Category C resettlement prison in Leicester, starting from 1st July 2025.

HMP Fosse Way opened in May 2023. Its state-of-the-art design and facilities provide a secure environment to offer skills and qualifications to the men, enabling them to secure meaningful employment upon release with the aim of reducing reoffending rates.

This position is full time, with an annual salary up to £55,941 per annum depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK and, due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

Main duties of the job

As the Pharmacist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high-quality prison pharmaceutical service
  • Providing expert advice on pharmaceutical matters and ensuring a safe and modern medicines management service
  • Prescribing medication
  • Leading a team of Pharmacy Technicians
