Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Creative Pharmaceutical Formulation Development Scientist to join the East London R&D team. You will design, develop and optimize dosage forms from concept through scale-up and tech transfer, ensuring product performance, stability and manufacturability.

The role requires a Master's or PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences and at least 4 years of hands-on formulation experience, with proficiency in HPLC, DSC, TGA and particle size analysis.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
• Expertise in various dosage forms and associated formulation technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct formulation development studies for various dosage forms (e.g., tablets, capsules, injectables, topicals).
• Characterize the physical and chemical properties of drug substances and excipients, and assess their compatibility.
• Optimize formulation composition and manufacturing processes to achieve desired product performance, stability, and bioavailability.
• Develop and validate analytical methods required for formulation characterization and quality control.
• Support technology transfer activities to manufacturing sites and troubleshoot formulation-related issues during scale-up.
• Document all experimental work meticulously in laboratory notebooks and technical reports, ensuring compliance with GMP.
