Pharmaceutical Forecasting Consultant

Within our Forecasting division, the goal is to predict future performance of drugs, such as sales, demand, market share, or patient adoption. This involves a combination of data analysis, modeling, and business insights.

What You’ll Do

  • Gather historical sales data for drugs.

  • Collect epidemiological data (disease prevalence, incidence rates).

  • Obtain market intelligence: competitor products, pricing, market share.

  • Clean and structure data to make it suitable for analysis (handle missing values, outliers, and inconsistencies).

  • Analyze patient populations (target population size, treatment patterns).

  • Assess disease burden and trends.

  • Study market dynamics, such as competitor launches, generics, and patent expirations.

  • Evaluate physician prescribing behaviors and treatment guidelines.

  • Use statistical methods (time series analysis, regression models) to predict sales.

  • Apply more advanced techniques like machine learning for demand prediction.

  • Scenario modeling for different market conditions (best case, worst case, base case).

  • Incorporate seasonality, market growth trends, and promotional activities.

  • Test assumptions under different scenarios (price changes, market entry of competitors, regulatory changes).

  • Identify key drivers of forecast outcomes.

  • Conduct sensitivity analysis to see how changes in inputs affect predictions.

What You’ll Bring

  • 4+ years of forecasting project work experience in the pharmaceutical/life sciences industry

  • Evidence of strong analytic work (including use of advanced modeling techniques and tools such as R, SAS, Tableau, or VBA)

  • Experience working on EU/UK centric projects

  • Strong academic background within a STEM related degree
