Job summary

UPS in Glasgow is seeking a driver for Polar Speed UPS delivering and collecting packages to residential and commercial properties. This is a physical, fast-paced role requiring safe driving and regular lifting. Job location is Glasgow Track Park, Springhill Parkway, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, G69 6GA.

£12.82 per hour – Monday to Friday, £19.23 per hour – Saturdays/Bank Holidays (Optional) - 40 to 48 hours per week. This is a permanent position with a DBS check processed for successful candidates.

Qualifications

• Valid UK category B driving licence with ideally no more than 3 points.
• At least 2 years driving experience including motorway driving.
• Experience in multi-drop deliveries with customer contact.
• Previous home/hospital delivery experience is preferred but full training will be provided.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Learn and properly execute Polar Speed/UPS safe driving methods.
• Manage the scanning of packages or pallets to your delivery vehicle.
• Conduct daily vehicle safety checks and monitor the refrigeration unit.
• Ensure the vehicle is always at the correct temperature.
• Deliver and collect pharmaceutical consignments to GP surgeries, retail pharmacies, hospitals, wholesalers, and home delivery patients.
• Manage the returns process of all consignments.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the company vehicle, including cab and chambers.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the company uniform and ensure correct PPE is worn, safety boots/High Vis.
