Job summary

UPS in Glasgow is seeking a permanent Multi Drop Van Driver. You will deliver to GP surgeries, pharmacies, hospitals and homes, with a focus on safe loading, scanning, and temperature-controlled transport.

The role runs Monday to Friday, 40–48 hours weekly, with weekend rates for Saturdays and bank holidays. Requires a valid B licence and good customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum category B driving licence with ideally no more than 3 points.
• Minimum 2 years driving experience.
• Experience in multi-drop deliveries with customer contact.
• Temperature controlled delivery experience desired but not essential.
• Home/hospital delivery experience desired but not essential.
• Appreciate the need for retaining confidentiality.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage scanning of packages to delivery vehicle.
• Load and secure consignments for delivery.
• Perform daily vehicle safety checks and refrigeration unit checks.
• Report issues from safety checks to line manager.
• Ensure correct vehicle temperature is maintained.
• Deliver and collect pharmaceutical consignments to GP surgeries, pharmacies, hospitals, wholesalers and homes.
• Scan consignments at delivery points and manage returns.

MULTI DROP VAN DRIVER

Polar Speed UPS : Unit 1 Glasgow Trade Park, Springhill Parkway, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, G69 6GA

Monday to Friday - 40 - 48 hours per week

£12.82 per hour Monday to Friday, £19.23 per hour weekends and bank holidays (optional)

Job Purpose And Key Responsibilities

• Managing the scanning of packages or pallets to your delivery vehicle
• Managing the safe and secure loading of all consignments
• Conducting daily diligence on vehicle safety checks and refrigeration unit
• Reporting any issues found on vehicle safety checks to the line manager and despatcher
• Ensure the vehicle is always at at the correct temperature
• Delivering and collection of pharmaceutical consignments to GP Surgeries, Retail Pharmacies, Hospitals, Wholesalers and Home Delivery Patients
• Physical checking and scanning of all consignments at the delivery point
• Managing the returns process
• Correct completion of the APOD/driver manifest/collection/refusal paperwork
• Maintain the cleanliness of the company vehicle
• Maintain the cleanliness of the company uniform and ensure correct PPE is worn, high vis, safety shoes
• Driving as per your planned schedule
• Communicate any patient concerns to the relevant department

Specialised Knowledge And Requirements

• Minimum category B drivers licence with ideally no more than 3 points
• Minimum 2 Years Driving Experience, Including Motorway Driving
• Experience in multi drop delieveries with customer contact
• Previous Temperature Controlled Experience Desired But Not Essential
• Previous home and / or hospital delivery experience desired but not essential
• Appreciate the need for retaining confidentiality
• Build effective working relationships with customers and clients and other departments across the network
• Good communication skills
