Job summary

Orion Pharma’s Biologics R&D UK Centre in Cambridge seeks a Research Associate to advance phage display-based antibody discovery campaigns and characterisation. You will collaborate with scientists across antibody discovery to identify novel therapeutic biologics and help establish a state-of-the-art phage display platform.

The role requires hands-on phage display experience, molecular biology skills (PCR/cloning/DNA assembly), and a proactive, team-oriented approach within a growing biologics

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology or a related subject area and 3+ years in antibody discovery.
• Strong hands-on experience with phage display technologies for antibody discovery and/or protein engineering.
• Proficiency in PCR, cloning, DNA assembly, plasmid preparation and sequence verification.

Responsibilities

• Support and execute phage display selection campaigns against therapeutic targets.
• Assist in antibody screening for hit identification using various binding and functional assays.
• Maintain and catalogue phage outputs, clones and campaign samples.
• Prepare samples for next-generation sequencing and analyse outputs to monitor enrichment and diversity.
• Contribute to construction of phage-antibody libraries for discovery and engineering projects.
• Maintain high-quality experimental records and communicate findings clearly.
