Working alongside a Senior Assistant, assisting in all business and personal affairs

Peters Fraser and Dunlop is one of the leading literary agencies in London, providing specialist expertise to its clients in all aspects of publishing and media. PFD require a Personal Assistant to CEO and Literary Agent Caroline Michel to work alongside a Senior Assistant, assisting in all business and personal affairs. Caroline Michel is also Chair of the Hay Literary Festival, Chair of the BFI Trust, and a Vice-President of the London Library.

We are looking for a highly enthusiastic and bright individual who will aid in the running of a busy agency and who will provide proactive, high-level administrative and personal support. The ideal candidate will be an assistant who can effectively manage business and personal schedules, so experience in diary management is crucial. Efficiency and the ability to multi-task is also essential as are exceptional organisational skills. We are looking for someone who will be able to meet a challenge with confidence and possess the ability to work in a busy environment at a fast pace while paying great attention to detail.

A full-hearted approach to any task is vital as well as acknowledging the importance of discretion, confidentiality, and diplomacy. We are seeking someone who is emotionally intelligent, has excellent listening skills, and a brilliant memory. An exceptional flair for verbal and written communication and a strong telephone manner is required.

The role involves working four days a week in our Central London office, with one day remote. As we’re looking for someone to start soon, we may not be able to reply to every application and we may hire before the closing date.

Responsibilities:
• Diary Management across multiple time zones
• Event and Trip planning
• Swiftly responding to internal and external queries, including client requests
• Assisting with PFD Board meetings, Hay Festival and BFI Trust
• Meeting scheduling, preparation, and follow up
• Action tasks in a systematic, dependable, and timely manner
• Book fair preparation and scheduling
• Managing unsolicited submissions
• Reading and reporting on manuscripts and book proposals
• Monthly expensesStarting salary is £26,000 per annum based on experience.
