Job summary

Omega Resource Group is seeking an experienced Pest Control Technician in Reading to deliver pest management services across supermarket contracts and other sites. The role involves visiting stores, performing proofing works, and reporting on pest activity to ensure smooth store operations.

You will work under Health and Safety guidelines, using pesticides responsibly and maintaining documentation for area managers and Helpdesk.

Qualifications

• RSPH Level 2 Award in Pest Management (or equivalent).
• Full driving license required.
• Experience with pest control environment.
• Experience in retail, leisure or FM sector is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of pest issues (infestations/cleaning/proofing) to resolve problems.
• Respond promptly to emergency callouts from Helpdesk.
• Formulate detailed reports on stores and escalate issues to stakeholders.
• Identify infestation-related faults in plant/machinery and advise Area Manager with replacements.
• Prioritise recommendations to stores to meet timescales and defend against pest activity.
• Carry out proofing works and installations per current specifications.
• Advise and document to the Site Manager about pest activity and implications for store operations.
• Always comply with Health and Safety Policy.
• Use pesticides safely and follow COIS guidelines.

Pest Control Technician

£37,565.78 per annum (including annual standby 1:4 x 13 Periods)

My client is on the lookout for an experienced Pest Control Technician to join the team. You will have the opportunity to work on one of their leading supermarket contracts.

The role will involve will to provide complete pest control services (including proofing) to their client to control all pest species.

The role will require visiting stores, food halls, outlets, depots & also office sites at agreed intervals governed by the specification service delivery.

Key Responsibilities – Pest Control Technician

• Take ownership of all pest related issues, i.e. infestations/cleaning/proofing, to resolve ongoing problems.
• Respond promptly to genuine emergency call outs from the Helpdesk.
• Formulate detailed reports on stores, escalating issues to all relevant stakeholders.
• To identify infestation non-repairable faults in plant and machinery and promptly advise the Area Manager of findings, with recommendations regarding suitable replacement.
• To prioritise detailed recommendations to stores and to achieve agreed timescales and response times to proactively defend against Pest activity.
• To carry out proofing works and installations within the individual’s technical competence in accordance with current specifications.
• To advise and document to the SM of any pest activity and how this may be detrimental to the smooth running of the store.
• To always comply with the company Health and Safety Policy.
• Use pesticides in a safe and responsible manner as specified under the Control of Substances

• Full driving license.
• Experience with Pest control environment.
• Experience in retail, leisure or FM sector is desirable.

On Offer – Pest Control Technician

• £37,565.78 per annum (including annual standby 1:4 x 13 Periods) + Overtime + Travel Time
• 45 hour week
• Travel time paid after half hour each way
