Working Hours: 35 Hours Per Week

DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance - this post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). Appointable candidates will be required to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Driving Licence – The successful candidate should hold a full clean driving licence as you will be required to drive a vehicle adhering to council regulations.

Although Pest Control is not the most glamourous of services, it is certainly essential for all of our customers.

We deal with a varied range of pests ranging from mice and rats to bedbugs and fleas. So if you are prepared to get your hands dirty when needed, then this maybe the role for you.

As a trainee technician every day will be different. You will be visiting Council premise, customers homes and companies with a verity of different pest control issues. You will be working alongside as qualified Pest Control Technician. Together you will be providing a bespoke treatment plan in a friendly manner. You will be gaining on the job knowledge and experience needed to agree the most effective solutions to the pest problem and education residents on pest prevention.

Manchester City Council are currently seeking a ambitious and enthusiastic Assistant Pest Control Technician to gain the relevant qualification (Royal Society for Public Health BPCA level 2 award in Pest Management) and experience to become a fully accredited Pest Control Technician. Once qualified this will be reflected in an increase in salary and new role description as a Pest Control Technician.
