Overview

Position: Pest Control Technician
Location: Guildford
Salary: £30830 to £33365
Position: permanent

Responsibilities
  • Take “ownership” of all pest related issues, i.e. infestations, cleaning, and proofing, to resolve ongoing problems.
  • Respond promptly to genuine emergency call outs from the Helpdesk.
  • Work in a manner that supports the achievement of company KPI delivery.
  • Formulate detailed reports on stores, escalating issues to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify non-repairable infestation faults in plant and machinery and promptly advise the Area Manager with recommendations for suitable replacement.
  • Prioritise detailed recommendations for stores to achieve agreed timescales and response times to proactively defend against pest activity.
  • Where pest proofing works are non-repairable, make recommendations to the National Pest Control Operations Manager and Field Support Supervisor (FSS).
  • Carry out proofing works and installations within technical competence in accordance with current specifications.
  • Advise and document to the SM (Store Manager) any pest activity and how this may affect smooth store operations.
  • Provide written reports detailing pest activity detected and any environmental conditions that may adversely affect the store, for submission to Trading Law, Operational Managers, SMs, etc.
  • Order preparations and spares following laid-down procedures.
Requirements
  • Experience in a pest control environment.
  • Experience in retail, leisure or facilities management (FM) sector is desirable.
  • Good PC literacy.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Royal Society of Health Certificate in Pest Control or British Pest Control Association Diploma Part 1 and 2.
  • Bird proofing work is desirable.
  • Helpful/professional manner; customer focused.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to be on call out once every 4 weeks.
  • Ability to pass DBS check (criminal record check).
