Job summary

Tameside Council is seeking a Pest Control Officer for the Pest Control Unit within the PLACE directorate. The role manages inspections, surveys and treatments across premises, people, vehicles and environments while ensuring safe handling of materials.

The post requires bringing in new contracts, coordinating with the Services Manager, and working across sites including cemeteries and the crematorium chapel. Strong communication and organisation are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in pest control operations and public interaction.
• Royal Society of Health Certificate in Pest Control
• Full clean driving licence
• DBS check required

Responsibilities

• Organise and implement pest control work including inspections, surveys and treatments.
• Pursue and prepare new commercial contracts for pest control services.
• Be mobile across the borough and report to a central office daily for workload.
• Assist cemetery operatives and work in crematorium/churchyard settings as required.
