Institute For Defense Analyses seeks a Personnel Security Specialist II to support the National Industrial Security Operations Procedures Manual (NISPOM) and ICDs. Under limited supervision, you will manage SIMS data, use DISS and NBIS, and assist with security reviews for DCSA and other agencies.

You will provide security guidance to IDA staff, maintain clearances, prepare monthly security metrics, and help with training materials, ensuring badges, CACs, and foreign travel compliance are up to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Four years of related security experience with at least two years in personnel security operations.
• Two years of SIMS experience preferred.
• Familiarity with NISPOM and ICDs.
• Experience with DoW clearance processes (eAPP, eQIP, SIMS, DISS, NBIS).
• Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to work under deadlines.

Responsabilités

• Executes elements of IDA’s personnel security program in line with NISPOM and ICDs.
• Oversees user management and SIMS dashboards for PERSEC leadership.
• Verifies security clearances and up-to-date reviews for affiliates and guests.
• Maintains CAC, visits, fingerprinting, and foreign travel documentation.
• Uses DISS/NBIS and tracks clearance requests; resolves discrepancies.
• Produces monthly security metrics for PERSEC leadership.
