An opportunity has arisen for Personnel Officer roles within the council focusing on absence management. The council adopts a holistic approach to absence management, as outlined in our Maximising Attendance Policy, which offers extensive support for employees and managers to manage absences effectively.
You will be part of a new team supporting managers to maximize attendance. This involves providing professional guidance on the policy and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
The post holder will collaborate with the Service to meet attendance targets in line with the policy and best practices, liaising with employees, managers, HR business managers, occupational health team, employee support team, and trade union colleagues. You will work under the direction of the Personnel Adviser and be the primary contact for your designated resource concerning attendance issues.
You will work closely with employee relations colleagues to support absence-related processes.
We seek a highly organized and motivated individual who can make a positive impact. Strong planning, organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office are essential, along with the ability to handle multiple systems and analyze data.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Ideally, you will be motivated to deliver high-quality HR services and have experience supporting managers and employees across HR activities, including attendance management, within a fast-paced environment.
A CIPD qualification is desirable, and experience in operational personnel delivery is recognized. Full training and support will be provided.
