Job summary

Howells Consulting Ltd in Taunton is seeking a CTA-qualified Manager to lead a Private Client Tax portfolio for a high net worth client base.

You will oversee annual compliance, identify ad hoc planning opportunities and undertake capital taxes advisory projects, working closely with partners to develop client relationships. The role offers homeworking two days a week, flexible hours, and a clear path to Senior Manager.

Qualifications

• CTA qualification and current role as Manager or Assistant Manager in a Private Client Tax team.
• Experience advising HNWIs on income tax, CGT, IHT and succession planning.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client relationship management.

Responsibilities

Our client has built a strong reputation in the Private Client field, acting for an impressive HNW client list of new-money entrepreneurs, business owners, multi-generational families and landed wealth. Demand for their personal tax expertise continues to grow and they are now keen to appoint an additional CTA at Manager level.

You will join a thriving and growing team in Taunton. Performing very much a client-facing role as a key point of contact, you’ll take responsibility for a broad portfolio of HNWIs and their families. You’ll oversee their annual compliance, as well as identifying and advising on ad hoc personal tax planning opportunities. Working closely with senior managers and partners, you’ll undertake capital taxes advisory projects and also have the opportunity to assist with networking and marketing initiatives.

You’ll need to be CTA qualified and currently working either as a Manager or Assistant Manager in a respected Private Client Tax team. You’ll be looking for the next step in your career and be keen to join a supportive environment where you’ll be encouraged to develop your technical and non-technical skills.

Demonstrable experience of advising HNWIs on income tax, CGT, IHT and succession planning is essential. You’ll also need strong communication and interpersonal skills as this is a key client relationship management role.

Based in Taunton, the role offers homeworking two days a week, as well as flexible hours. Salary will be dependent on experience but is likely to be c.£52k-£62k + Bens. Genuine scope exists to progress on to Senior Manager grade.
