TPF Recruitment is supporting a reputable firm of chartered accountants based in Medway, seeking a Personal Tax Manager or mixed Tax Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will work closely with partners, contributing to the growth and development of the tax department. This role offers flexible working hours and a hybrid work pattern, with responsibilities tailored to the candidate's experience and aspirations.

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing a portfolio of personal clients with complex tax affairs, including UK individuals, HNWIs, and some trusts. A corporate portfolio may be included for a mixed tax practitioner.
  • Handling tax planning projects such as non-domicile issues, onshore/offshore trusts, capital gains, and inheritance tax issues.
  • Reviewing and completing complex tax returns.
  • Overseeing compliance functions and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Managing HMRC enquiries and correspondence, both compliance and advisory.
  • Managing junior staff, supporting their technical and personal development.
  • Assisting partners with the growth of the tax department through networking, marketing, and business development.
Requirements
  • Ideally CTA and/or ATT/ACA/ACCA qualified, with experience in a practice or specialist tax firm.
  • Background in Top Tier, Top Ten, 50, larger regional firms, or specialist tax practices, focusing on personal or mixed tax with strong compliance and planning skills.
  • Salary range of £55,000 - £70,000, negotiable based on experience.
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
