I am looking for a Personal/Home Care Assistant to support and care for my daughter, a young lady with Lissencephaly in the Stoke-on-Trent area.

My daughter loves music and hats! The ideal candidate should be fun-loving, humorous, and adaptable. She is a sweet girl with a vibrant personality, and this role offers a rewarding experience.

Her symptoms include difficulty swallowing, failure to thrive, muscle spasms, seizures requiring oxygen and rescue medication, and severe developmental delays. She uses a wheelchair and cannot communicate verbally. The role involves providing 24-hour care, assisting with personal care, domestic tasks, and social activities. Support may be needed during evenings, mornings, and possibly for respite care.

You will receive:

• £11.37 per hour
• A pension if eligible
• 5.6 weeks of annual leave (pro-rata)
• Full training on all aspects of the role

Hours available:

• 30 hours per week
• Additional hours may be available during holidays and sickness

Requirements:

• Assistance with personal care, bathing, hair washing, dressing
• A full driving license is desirable
• Flexibility in working hours; night shifts may be required
• Weekend work is essential
• Support with equipment use and care daily
• An enhanced DBS check will be conducted, paid for by the employer
