Job Description:

JOB REF: AY0325

We are looking for a Personal Assistant / Carer to join our support team in caring for our daughter. Experience with tracheostomy and NG tube feeding is advantageous but not essential; certified training will be provided.

The role involves 10-hour night shifts caring for a 4-year-old girl with a tracheostomy (no vent), who may need suctioning overnight. Daytime shifts (8 hours) are also required to accompany her to school.

You will be part of a team, working on a 4-week rota with day or night shifts. The child sleeps most nights, is happy, bubbly, and loved.

You will receive:

  • Rate from £13.50 – £15.50 per hour
  • Time and a half on Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year's Day
  • A pension if eligible
  • 5.6 weeks holiday per year (pro-rata)
  • Full certified training

Hours available:

  • 20-40 hours per week (2-4 night shifts) and/or up to 40 hours during day shifts
  • Additional hours may be available during holidays and sickness

Requirements include:

  • Assistance with personal care (bathing, dressing, nappy changing, cleaning, equipment maintenance)
  • Ability to stay alert and vigilant during waking shifts
  • Flexibility to cover other team members' shifts
  • Weekend night work (paid extra)
  • Occasional shifts during public holidays (e.g., Christmas), shared among team members
  • Helping during school hours during term time
  • Use of suction machine, nebuliser, and NG feed pump
  • Support with life skills
  • Enhanced DBS check (cost covered by employer)
