A local government authority in the UK is seeking a Personal Coach to help young people who are NEET or at risk of NEET transition to post-16 education or training. Responsibilities include managing a caseload, working with parents, and using assessment tools. The position offers a starting salary of £33,552, 26 days of holiday, and various employee benefits. This role is hybrid with a base office in Leatherhead.
Working as part of the Participation Service, you will support young people who are NEET (not in employment, education or training) or at risk of becoming NEET to identify and progress to an appropriate post-16 destination. This involves working closely with parents/carers, schools, further education and training providers, employers, and other relevant professionals.
As a Personal Coach, you will support young people by working face-to-face, managing a caseload, recording interventions, and reporting on progress. You will need to be comfortable using action plans, skills assessment tools, and aptitude tests to enable progress towards agreed goals.
We are looking for someone who can bring their passion for engaging and motivating young people to life, developing strategies, advocating on behalf of our young people, and challenging attitudes or barriers that may impact their successful transition.
An enhanced DBS 'Disclosure and Barring Service' check for regulated activity and the Children's and Adults' Barred List checks will be required for this role.
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract or secondment opportunity, with a starting salary of £33,552 per annum based on a 36-hour working week. The role is hybrid, with an assigned office base near the centre of Surrey at the Mansion in Leatherhead.
