Personal Care Assistant with experience of SEN - £14/hr

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Personal Care Assistant to support a 12-year-old boy with ASD and epilepsy in Merthyr Tydfil. The role involves assisting with personal care, promoting independence, and ensuring safety during community outings.

Responsibilities

• Support with personal care needs, including toileting and wearing pads.
• Assist with community access and activities.
• Encourage independence and positive social interactions.
• Ensure safety, particularly regarding road safety and risk of running away.
• Provide reassurance and support during challenging behaviors.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience working with children with additional needs and behavioral challenges.
• Kind, patient, and respectful attitude.
• Full UK driving license (desirable).
• Reliability and trustworthiness.
• Understanding of epilepsy (training available).

Details

• Rate: £14 per hour plus mileage (£0.40 ppm).
• Hours: 6 hours/week in non-term time; 10 hours/week during school holidays; flexible hours.
• Training provided if needed.
• Three-month trial period and DBS check required.
