A family is seeking to expand their team of dedicated and compassionate personal care assistants to support their mum in the Kielder area. Support is required 7 days a week across morning, afternoon, and evening calls to assist her in and around her own home and in her local community.

The successful candidates will take a person-centered approach to care, supporting the client’s independence, well-being, and choices, while providing essential personal, social, and domestic care. This lady enjoys cooking, baking, short walks in the community, listening to music (from Elvis Presley to Status Quo), watching old TV programmes like Casualty, and doing crosswords and puzzles.

Main Duties: To support as a second person/personal care assistant for an older lady with significant health and mobility needs, assisting with getting in/out of bed, toileting, showering, meal preparation, feeding, administering medication, and socialising by encouraging her to engage in activities or interests of her choosing.

This role involves close personal contact with an individual who is extremely vulnerable to infection and disease transmission. Preference may be given to applicants who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Consideration will be given to those for whom vaccination is not suitable for valid reasons.

Personal Specification: Car driver preferred.

Further Information: An Enhanced DBS certificate will be required (cost covered by employer).
Training will be provided as needed, including safeguarding, moving and handling, medication awareness, and client-specific training.

Pay Rate: Employee £17.23 (higher rate)

Weekly Hours: 6 hours/week, times to be discussed and confirmed at interview, preferably Monday to Friday.
