Job summary

UKCIL Ltd is recruiting a Direct Payment Personal Assistant in Weston-super-Mare to support a 9-year-old boy with ADHD, speech delay and visual impairment. The role covers six hours weekly during term time and 18 hours weekly in school holidays, with the aim of enabling participation in social and educational activities.

The PA will assist with routines, safety, and interaction, working closely with carers.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children who have disabilities.
• Knowledge of safeguarding practices for children.

Responsibilities

• Social and leisure activities for the young person.
• Support learning tasks and training activities as needed.
• Safeguarding of adults/children as required.

He takes medication for his seizures.This person is a very sociable boy who loves music, dancing, doing puzzles, swimming, going for walks and exploring new environments. He is very active and has lots of energy and enjoys going out with his carer.He is entirely dependent on adults, including requiring an adult to facilitate his interaction with, and involvement with learning tasks and the world in general. He has moderate vision loss and is constantly on the move.
