ABOUT THE ROLE

I am a young female wheelchair user living with my family in Nuneaton, Stockingford. I rely on my parents and a small team of assistants for personal care and support with daily activities.

I enjoy outdoor activities, have my own transport but also use public transport. I need support to become familiar with my communication methods and to assist me in the community.

The hours are 12 per week, including one weekday (6 hours) and one weekend day (6 hours). No overnight stays. Shifts can be discussed during the interview.

Due to the nature of the role, the candidate must be female to support with personal care tasks such as bathing and dressing. PEG feeding training is provided, as well as training for administering medication, continence management, hoisting to and from bed, and escorting to social activities. Domestic support and other duties related to the role are also required.

ABOUT YOU

Patience, willingness to learn and understand my specific needs, ability to administer medication, a desire to maintain high hygiene standards, a driving license is preferred but not essential, ability to follow instructions, honesty, reliability, trustworthiness, confidentiality, respect for myself and my home, organization skills, excellent communication skills, and willingness to undergo training.
