Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a Personal Care Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in Bury, supporting pupils with physical, medical and personal care needs. The role provides full-time, term-time hours and a competitive daily pay rate.

You will work closely with teachers and healthcare staff to support pupils, promote independence and ensure safeguarding and pupil dignity throughout the day. Training is provided to help you thrive in this role.

Qualifications

• Previous personal care, SEND, healthcare or support work experience is desirable but not essential.
• Full training and guidance provided to the right candidate.
• Ability to follow EHCP, healthcare and personal care plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and practical support to pupils with additional needs.
• Assist pupils with toileting, changing, dressing, eating and personal hygiene.
• Support pupils with mobility and physical needs following care plans.
• Encourage independence, dignity and confidence in pupils throughout the day.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Provide emotional reassurance and encouragement during the school day.
• Support pupils during lessons, transitions, breaks and lunchtimes.
• Collaborate with teachers, healthcare staff and other professionals.

We are seeking a dedicated Personal Care Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in Bury, supporting pupils with a range of physical, medical and personal care needs.

The Role

As a Personal Care Assistant, you will:

• Provide personal care and practical support to pupils with additional needs.

• Support pupils with toileting, changing, dressing, eating and personal hygiene where required.

• Assist pupils with mobility and physical needs, following appropriate care plans.

• Support pupils with their independence, dignity and confidence.

• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.

• Provide emotional reassurance and encouragement throughout the school day.

• Follow individual EHCP, healthcare and personal care plans.

• Support pupils during lessons, transitions, break times and lunchtimes.

• Work closely with teachers, healthcare staff and other professionals.

• Maintain high standards of safeguarding, confidentiality and pupil dignity.
